Meet Professor Bill

The ‘friendly face’ of Castle Learning Online
Castle Learning's resident educator, "Professor Bill," pops up with instant feedback while students are working through their assignments. Professor Bill is quick to congratulate Correct Answers. He's also quick to turn Incorrect Answers into a positive learning experience. By pointing the way to hints and defined vocabulary while the missed questions are still fresh, students are able to reconsider and try again.

More than just a friendly face
The idea behind Castle Learning Online began in a real classroom with real teachers looking for tools to re-enforce lessons for their own students. The product they developed is not a toy, but a deep well of academic information organized around established school curricula.

Castle's “fortress of learning” is meant to be an environment where students work at their own pace with all tools needed to successfully complete their teachers’ assignments. Teachers have the flexibility to create their own assignments and powerful features including instant grading and reports that track progress of individuals and classes.

Some 50,000 field-tested questions later, the Castle team has expanded, but at heart we are still educators and still dedicated to the premise that learning can be magic if students are given the right resources.

The Professor Bill character is a reminder that Castle Learning is entrenched in the educator’s point-of-view. Castle Software's mission is to allow teachers and administrators to empower every student to reach his or her academic potential.

The real educator behind Professor Bill
“Professor Bill” represents many dedicated professionals, but the best known face of Castle Learning Online bears a striking resemblance to company co-founder and president Bill Ingui. He is a 33-year veteran of the classroom who taught junior and senior high in New York City and Long Island who welcomes meeting and hearing from Castle Learning users. Don’t be surprised if you bump into the “real” Professor Bill at a Castle Learning school or an educational conference near you.
